HELLO!
Katie Sayer
I'm Katie and I'm a writer and producer for the BBC. I promise I am better at both of those things than I am at web design.
I'm Katie and I'm a writer and producer for the BBC. I promise I am better at both of those things than I am at web design.
I am a 25-year-old writer and producer based in London.
My writing credits for BBC Radio 4 include 10 series of The Skewer, as well as Dead Ringers, The Now Show, The Naked Week, and One Person Found This Helpful, and my writing credits for BBC Television includes The Skewer: Three Twisted Years. My writing for radio has won NYF Awards, ARIAs and BPAs, and I was named in 2023 as a Radio Academy 30 Under 30. My writing for television has been nominated for a BAFTA.
I also write for the stage, and have written a number of plays, one that recently transferred to Soho Theatre, one that was published by Audible, and one that is currently in development as a sitcom. I also wrote a hilarious Hinge bio variously described as "completely deranged" and "Katie please delete that or you'll die alone".
I also work as a producer for radio, and recently wrote and produced the 10-part documentary series 'Marco Pantani: Death of a Pirate' for BBC 5Live and BBC Sounds. It was described as "superbly insightful... gripping stuff" by The Times, and went to #1 in the charts within a week. (😊)
My awards and nominations include:
2024 New York Festival Awards - Best Documentary - Finalist
2023 Audio Production Awards - Best Sports Producer - Nominee
2023 Radio Academy 30 Under 30
I have also been a commissioned writer on BBC Radio 4's The Skewer for 7 series, and in my time as a staff writer, we have won:
2024 BAFTA for Short Form (nominee)
2023 Radio Academy Award for Best Comedy
2023 BBC Audio & Drama Awards for Best Comedy (nominee)
2023 British Comedy Guide Awards - Best Sketch Show (nominee)
2022 Radio Academy Award for Best Comedy
2022 New York Festival Awards Best Comedy
2022 New York Festival Awards Innovation Award
2022 British Comedy Guide Awards (finalist)
2022 BBC Audio & Drama Awards Best Comedy
2022 British Podcast Awards Best Comedy (nominee)
2021 New York Festival Award for Best Comedy
2021 New York Festival Award for Innovation
2021 Radio Academy Award for Best Comedy
2021 Radio Academy Award for Best New Show

In December 2022, one of my sketches was chosen by Richard Curtis for BBC Radio 4's 'Pick of the Year 2022'. We are also doing a stage version in 2025 (watch this space!).
