We are utterly thrilled that Love's A Beach will be making her Edinburgh Fringe debut at the Baby Grand in August 2024!
We couldn't be more excited to be coming to the Pleasance - and to be produced by the phenomenal Unusual to boot. This is our copy...
Fresh from a 5-star sold-out run at Soho Theatre: Meet Ben and Cyrus, this year's winners of TV's biggest reality-cum-dating show.
They’re 22, they have hundreds of thousands of followers – and now, 6 months on from the show that catapulted them to fame, they’re spending most of their time promoting vegan dog food, and making sponsored content about lawnmowers. Ben wants to return to his old life – while Cyrus just wants his Instagram to reach 1 million followers. When they’re offered a million-pound influencing deal in Dubai, the world looks on to see what L*ve Isl*nd’s first LGBT sweethearts will do.
Starring James Akka (BBC Radio 4) and Iain Ferrier (BBC 5Live) and directed by Phoebe Gibby. Written by me and Will Johnston!

Aged 19, I wrote The C Bomb - a comedy about a girl with chlamydia, who, in the interests of expediency, throws a party to tell all her ex-lovers and simultaneously work out who gave it to her.
It won the OUDS New Writing Festival in 2018 (judged by Zinnie Harris), selling out at the Oxford Playhouse's Burton Taylor Studio, then receiving Cameron Mackintosh Funding for a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it was picked up for a short London transfer by Indigo Productions (Theatro Technis, March 2019). It was also longlisted for the BBC Writersroom and Papatango prize.
It also received a number of 5 star reviews - "new writing at its very best", "real belly laughs, Sayer's comedies are to be looked out for", "I was enamoured... a real masterpiece".
No comment on where the inspiration came from x
The following year, I wrote Waiting For Gary - a comedy about two divorced parents who are reunited when their daughter gives birth. While The C Bomb was an ensemble comedy, Waiting For Gary was a duologue, which I greatly enjoyed writing.
After a sold-out run at the Oxford Playhouse's Burton Taylor Studio, it was scouted by a production company and adapted for and published by Audible in June 2019. It also received a number of 5 star reviews - "Award-winning writer Katie Sayer’s scintillating comedy shines and sparkles with wit and insight, captivating and delighting the audience for every moment of its 50 minutes", "Contemporary comedy with a feminist twist is fast becoming a trademark of Katie Sayer's writing... I look forward to what Katie Sayer will write next"
I was commissioned to write Pet Peeves And Other Drugs - a one-woman comedy about a teenage alcoholic - by Mountview Drama School.
After a successful development, it was due to be performed at Southwark Playhouse in early 2021.
Sadly there was a pandemic and the rest, as they say, is history.
